WHAT IS PROBATE GENEALOGY AND WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF THE PROBATE & HEIR & FAMILY RESEARCH OFFICE GENEATRANSLAT?
The history of Poland is inseparably linked with migration resulting from the changing borders, wars or economical situation. The distance and lapse of time as well as language barrier that often built up from generation to generation caused loosening of family bounds. It is time that can make those bounds dissapear totally and it is only the oldest members of the family who still can remember the grandfather`s brother or sister once having left their country seeking a better future in America, France, Germany or Canada.
The blood bounds, however, do not vanish and the estate law systems in the whole world are founded on them. If someone dies without leaving next-of-kin such as children or siblings, more distant members of the family are entitled to inherit.
Probate of international range often demands conducting genealogical research. It is when the identity of the beneficiaries is known but their whereabouts remain unknown (testacy) or when people entitled to inherit are to be determined (intestacy).
And that is what our Office specializes in.
We handle each case in its full complexity, i.e. we conduct genealogical research, locate possible beneficiaries, (one becomes a beneficiary not until probate is finished), complete all the documentation necessary to prove rights to inherit and represent possible beneficiaries in court.
